8 WWW.LCTMAG.COM LUXURY COACH & TRANSPORTATION FEBRUARY 2019 PUBLISHER'S PAGE I FEBRUARY 2019 A fter we wrap up an International LCT Show, I always start thinking ahead of how we could pos- sibly top ourselves the next year. Just like the annual Thanksgiving Macy's Parade, the planning begins right away. With our next Show only weeks ahead, on March 24-27 at Mandalay Bay, I must admit you industry supporters and attendees are surprising me once again (and helping me sleep at night!) Our leading indicators for attendees, exhibitors, and registrations are up year over year, compared to the 2018 Show. And I thought that one was the best! We never know what succeeds for sure until we are on the ground in Las Vegas and after hearing all your feedback. I've got a good feeling about this event, so it's only fitting we took on more of a grand circus theme, "Dream Big, Come One, Come All." This especially rings true when I look at how many new, younger, and international operators are showing up at our events. While ILCT Shows offer every type of industry product, session, activity, and venue for our active busi- ness sector, this Show foremost is all about meeting new people and getting to know familiar ones better. That's why we focus so heavily on structured networking, the lifeblood for your business and success. We now span the show over four days since we've developed more opportunities to interact. Make sure you're there for the big first day, Saturday, March 24, when we start with the Women of the Industry Luncheon. Attendees packed the house last year. Let's face it: This is a mostly male industry, and while I'm fine with it, we businesswomen should forge special bonds and friendships of mutual support. That afternoon brings the First Timer's Orientation. Our industry depends on new rounds of start-up operators, and this venue helps make sure they're confident and get the most out of their experience. The B4 Business Networking Event has come into its own as a Show anchor refining the business- version of speed dating. You'll find plenty of affiliates here. Then don't miss the evening LCTConnect. com hospitality event, for members only. Want to come? Be sure to join LCTConnect, our online affiliate networking and referral site. The pinnacle of our serious business networking happens at the International Meet 'N Greet on the morning of March 25. Although it hosts operators from around the world, it's turned into a forum for ev- eryone, domestic and foreign. The biggest complaint we get each year is, "The room's not big enough!" (no matter how we upsize space). The show floor, open March 25-27, functions as one continuous mingling fest with attendees talking amongst vendors and each other as they circulate on our vast 150,000+ square foot show floor. During the second floor day on March 26, lead show sponsor Grech Motors will host a happy hour, and then LCT will gather attendees under the age of 40 for our next gen LCT Fast40 Reception. Once you've spent the day connecting in business attire, it's time to get more casual with our grand evening at the LCT Magazine Awards Banquet, where we recognize operator excellence, and the Light Night Club networking party. This industry always strikes the right balance between work and fun, and what better way to get to know colleagues than at play. My straight-up approach to networking is this: You never know who you'll meet. The sky is the limit. You should have a plan on what you'd like to accomplish and who you'd like to meet. The show pro- vides a pool of ready-made mentors, who can coach or advise you on any aspect of your operations. The key to keeping yourself relaxed, cool, calm, and collected is realizing everyone in a networking session is there for the same reason you are. They want to meet new people. They want to develop their own network. They want to talk to as many people as possible. Don't be shy. We are all in this together. Seize the moment and the opportunities. I look forward to hearing about your returns on your investment. We'll all be there! (www.lctshow.com/register).
