With this addition that opened in late August, the company's parts and service network is growing again after the opening of four new service centers in North America last year. With now 15 service loca- tions, Prevost strengthens its network. In addition, the service network is supported by more than 190 bus-certified Volvo Truck locations. The Orlando service center required investments of $6 million and plans to hire up to 50 employees. It is a full-service facility and staffed by technicians who are factory trained to work on Prevost, Nova Bus, and Volvo motorcoaches, as well as other motorcoach brands. Information: (407) 554-0196 CHECKER BUS GETS A 2019 MCI J4500 MARQUETTE, Mich. — Checker Bus in Marquette, MI took delivery of a new 2019 MCI J4500 — its first all-new motorcoach — in early November. Featuring Northern Michigan University's Wildcats sports decal, Checker's new J4500 comes in dark phantom gray with an upscale interior to match. Inside carbon-fiber par- cel racks and matching seating by Amaya is complemented with best-in-class legroom, power outlets, and video moni- tors, along with side-view and back-up camera system. Owner Jesse Schramm, who founded Checker Bus in 2010 with a single minivan, said, "It's all about what customers want. And that includes an up-to-date motor- coach. Our pre-owned coaches range from 1996-2012." The family owned company has a particular niche in school and university athletic transportation in addition to tours and local event service. The J4500 joins a diverse fleet of more than 30 vehicles including an entertainer coach, mini-coach, mini-bus/shuttles, limo buses, trolleys, school buses, SUVs, sedans, and even a pedal cruiser.
