From: Scott Simkus, VP of operations, West Suburban Limousine, Chicago, www.westsublimo.com LUXURY COACH & TRANSPORTATION AUGUST 2018 The biggest challenge facing West Suburban Limousine (WSL) is the continued integration of new technology with our professional service. I don't necessarily mean challenges from a technical standpoint (although this is certainly part of it), but moreso communi- cating the features and benefits of new technology to new and existing clients. As an example, many of our longtime clients are happy with the traditional manner in which we've operated for decades, and it's our job to showcase how our direct texts (just to focus on one new feature) can make their lives easier at the airport, improving their overall customer experience. Then we have new clients who might be more tech savvy, but need to be educated about the differences between WSL and TNCs. We focus on the value-adds we provide, like full-time professional chauffeurs, industry-leading insurance levels and safety track records, customized billing to accommodate client needs, on-site dispatching at large events , and personal service (of course!). And that typically wins them over. Follow LCT on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn Do you want to sound off straight to an editor? Thanks for providing relevant content. This is excellent food for thought. [06/13/2018] Owner Upholds Family Legacy Of Integrity After Father Died Jeff: Great job Dave. Your father would be very proud! [06/13/2018] Resort Spurs Added Location For Arizona Company Chris Hecker: Congrats! [06/20/2018 ] Denver Police Raid Pot Tour Limo Buses Anthony: Just another foolish operator in Colorado trying to make $$$$ with a junk bus 420 tour. His online reply tells us exactly what and who he is. [05/16/2018] Uber Low Pay Scrapes The Minimum Wage Level Steve: That's why it's best to drive part time when it's busy to earn $25-35/hour like smart drivers do. Three hours during am rush and three hours during pm rush along with special events. 06/22/18: Trust In Self-Driving Cars Dropped In the Last Six Months Geoff Jacobs: I wouldn't! As a commercial pilot, the planes fly themselves for the most part. We are there to make sure nothing goes wrong and if it does, we correct it — not the computers. 06/20/18: 2019 Escalade Gets Hands-Free Tailgate Sasha Padurjan: That's not much innovation. 06/16/18: Florida Group Drops Off Mega Canned Food Donation Wendy Kleefisch: Thank you LCT for the coverage! I know Stephanie Bowman is very grateful and also Hope & Help. This year's distribution brought a lot of tears of joy. I'm truly proud of our association! This event would not have been successful without my industry peers and I'm very thankful One Heart for Women and Children: We are so very thankful to our amazing team at the CFLA for the wonderful surprise of a full pantry. 06/13/18: Carolinas Operation Grows Through Regional Acquisitions Imran Qazi: Congratulations guys, so happy for you. 06/06/18: Pamela Anderson Talks TNC Dangers On Fox News Tate McIntyre: I'm very happy this is getting public attention. You could improve her talking points to better express the issues with "rideshares," such as the recent California court ruling that independent contractors must meet three criteria, or they are employees. 07/1/18: How To Find Top Talent For Your Operations Amy Albertson Cooley : Great article - and I LOVE this pic of Chris and Christina! 06/21/18: How Not To End Up With A Business Worth Zero Bill Faeth @bfaeth: In this week's article with @LCTMag, I wrote about how NOT to end up with a worthless business. Do you know your company's current #worth? Do you have a #businessplan in place for when it's time to sell? "BEST OF" ARTICLE COMMENTS SAMPLER @ LCTMAG.COM TOP COMMENTS ON FACEBOOK/LINKEDIN/TWITTER AUGUST 2018 6 [06/27/2018] Self-Driving Cars Still Have Long Way To Go On Trust David Seamans: It took me five minutes to read and digest this article. In that time, 11.5 people died worldwide. I cannot even begin to say how much road maintenance, licensing, and injuries in the ER cost. What insanity is it that we trust our current predicament and avoid the incredible options to get out of it. This is an another example of the incredibly stupid articles produced to pacify the masses eating this stuff. My heart bleeds for my race. [06/29/2018] Are You Selling Luxury Or A Commodity? Jeff: Bravo Sara! Great article. Wow your client and hold firm your pricing. One does not build a successful business attracting cheap customers, unless your volume is like Amazon or Walmart. Still, not my kind of people.
